Students across the country yesterday began taking a two-day, 9-hour, national college entrance examination known as the Gaokao. The result of this test will greatly impact the lives of the students, and their families, so local authorities have asked entertainment venues to help out by shutting down early.

WeChat Translation of an announcement sent out on Wednesday:

In order to create a good test environment, the entertainment venue will strictly implement the time-limited operation during the college entrance examination period, and all the places will be closed at 2am when the lights will be turned off and the doors will be closed. Thanks for your cooperation!

The announcement didn't specify whether places will be able to remain open past 2am after the examination ends; nor were questions on the subject clearly answered. However; with the World Cup approaching, where many games start at 2am, we assume this restriction won't last long... but you never know.
