Unfortunately, Hong Kong has cancelled their annual Chinese New Year Fireworks due to last week's tragic bus accident. Click here for details relating to that. Fortunately, there are two other big fireworks shows still going on for you to catch.
The fireworks show at Window of the World will take place at midnight on February 15th (New Year's Eve), and at 8:45pm on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th. Ideal places to watch from include both the lower and second observation decks of the Eiffel Tower and the Universal Stage in the Scenic Area, Venice. The ticket price is 200rmb per adult for an all day ticket to the park. Children under 1.2m are free, and children between 1.2m and 1.5m are half price. It appears the usual night-time only tickets are not available during the holiday; however, Meituan an other Chinese apps have cheaper tickets if you can figure those out or get assistance.
The fireworks show takes place at 9:45pm and the best places to watch are near the tower itself or along the Taipa shore. The Macau Tower, is the tenth tallest sightseeing tower in the world measuring 338 meters (1,109 feet) from ground level to the highest point. It is taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It combines sightseeing, a movie theater, a conference center, revolving restaurant, games machines and activities like the world's tallest buggy jump from the 233-meter-tall platform.
The Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau would like to remind you that: In accordance with the Regulation on the Safety Administration of Fireworks and Firecrackers, and the Provisions of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone on Prohibiting the Sale of Fireworks and Firecrackers, and other relevant laws and regulations, It is strictly prohibited to sell and set off fireworks and firecrackers in Shenzhen without the approval of the municipal people's government. Offenders shall be subject to administrative detention for a maximum period of 15 days and a fine of 2,000 yuan. Click here for more details.
