Foreigners Swept Up as the Crackdowns Continue
11 Jun 2018
Over the past week, nine foreigners were caught overstaying their visas in Shekou, Shenzhen. Some were picked up during raids at their homes and others while they were out around town. They are currently being detained for the violations and will ultimately be fined, deported and blacklisted, according to those close to the situation.
These raids come as the officials from various departments are conducting raids across the city to "clean up" the city. For more on those operations, see these recent stories:

Overstaying your visa is a serious offense. If you or someone you know has overstayed, please take care of it immediately. You're more likely to receive a more lenient result if you take care of it yourself rather than waiting until you get caught.
