Enjoy the weather this weekend folks. Starting Monday, temperatures are expected to drop to the single-digits through most of the week. According to the Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau, Shenzhen will see temperatures drop as low at 7°C (44.6 °F). Accuweather forecasts temperatures dropping to 6°C (43°F).

Luckily, temperatures are expected to return to double digits for the weekend but only barely.

Freezing Temperatures Subside as Sunshine Returns This Weekend

on 12/21/2017 - 08:27 am

Those that were hoping for a frosty Christmas in Shenzhen this year may be in for some dissappointment. The Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau and Accuweather are both forecasting temperatures that will have my Canadian and Northern European friends out in shorts this weekend.

After a grueling week in the single digits, the 68-73°F / 20-23°C temperatures expected will be a warm welcome. This is just in time to enjoy the Christmas Market and many other great events going on for the holiday weekend.

Night time temperatures may still hit as low as 56°F or 14°C; however, that's manageable... compared to what we've just been through.

Get ready for 120 shooting stars per hour in tonight's night sky. The Geminid meteor shower is the strongest and most spectacular meteor show of the year. The showers began on December 7th and the peak is expected to occur at about 2:30 p.m. tomorrow; however, tonight between 10pm and midnight is the recommended viewing time as the moon won't rise until after 3 am.

Where to Go and Where to Look

It's not going to be hard to catch a glimpse of the show, if you can find a dark place where clouds don't block your view of the east/north-east sky. Getting away from the city lights may be a challenge for most of us. The nearest areas may be the coastlines or mountain tops. Once there, just si ...
