The Shenzhen News Network reported yesterday that due to the college entrance examinations starting tomorrow, citizens and businesses are being asked to provide a quiet and comfortable preparation environment for students.
A few days ago, the Shenzhen Eco-Environment Bureau issued a notice to suspend building construction noise permits during the college entrance examination, the senior high school entrance examination and the examination period from May 24, 2019 to June 24, 2019. Construction sites in the city are prohibited from all noise-causing construction operations (except for repairs, rescues, and emergency operations) from noon to 2pm and nighttime construction from 23:00 to 7:00 am.
The examinations, known as the Gaokao, is a two-day, 9-hour, national college entrance examination. The result of this test will greatly impact the lives of the students, and their families well into the future.
Caring for candidates, reducing the noise of the citizens' places of residence, and keeping things quiet for candidates has become the focus of many departments in the city.
According to China's "Urban Regional Environmental Noise Standard", the noise value of residential areas should not exceed 55 decibels during the day and should not exceed 45 decibels at night; in industrial and residential mixed areas, the daytime should not exceed 60 decibels, 50 decibels at night.
