The Hong Kong Observatory issued their Thunderstorm Warning at 5:30 p.m. on 31 Aug 2017. They announced that it is expected to be valid until 7:30 p.m. today.

UPDATE: At 5:40pm, the Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau issued their Blue Gale Winds warning advising of strong winds possibly affecting us over the next 6 hours. At the same time they issued their yellow Lighting warning advising of possible lighting affecting us over the next two hours.

HKO Thunderstorm warning:

"Isolated thunderstorms are expected to occur over New Territories. Members of the public are advised to take the following precautions when thunderstorms occur:

1. Stay indoors. Seek shelter in buildings if you are engaging in outdoor activities.

2. Do not stand on high grounds. Keep away from highly conductive objects, trees or masts."
