Video: Fire at Houhai Exit of the Shenzhen Metro

Shekou News has recently reported on and shared a video of a fire that broke out suddenly at the D1 exit of Houhai Station of the Shenzhen Metro Line 2 on the night of October 29th, around 8:40 pm. Passengers were evacuated and the station was temporarily closed.
Luckily, no one was killed or injured and damage appears to be minimal.
According to the Shekou News reporters, the subway staff rushed to immediately put out the fire, located at the right side of the exit plate, using fire extinguishers. The cause of the fire was not clear; however, a short circuit is suspected.
At 9:34 p.m., the Shenzhen Metro released a message saying that at around 20:40 pm, the D1 exit of the Houhai Station of Metro Line 2 was affected by smoke. To ensure passenger safety, the Shenzhen Metro temporarily closed the station and evacuated passengers in the station. No one was injured in the incident. The incident has been handled and the station has resumed normal operations.
