Professional Whisky Certification Course Saturday August 4th


Attention whisky lovers, connoisseurs, food and beverage professionals, or those who simply enjoy the finer things in life... This Saturday, August 4th is your opportunity to join the first and only whisky professional certificate course recognized by the UK and become a certified whisky expert.

Whisky Ambassador is an internationally recognized professional whisky qualification. It was established in 2012 in Glasgow, aimed at educating professionals in the industry, and is now being operated globally.

 

The very first English-language Whisky Ambassador course in mainland China was held right here in Shenzhen, on February 4th, 2018 and was attended by food and beverage professionals from 5-star hotels, local bar and restaurant managers, wine sommeliers and bartenders, and whisky connoisseurs. About the Examination and Requirements to Pass:

The assessment lasts 45 minutes and consists of a 30 multiple-choice-question exam and a practical assessment consisting of four whiskies to be identified using nosing and/or tasting. In order to pass the exam, candidates must correctly answer 21 out of 30 questions and correctly identify at least two of the four whiskies. The assessment will be graded by the headquarters in Scotland. Results will be released in one month.

Your Accredited Whisky Ambassador Tutor: Anna Tam

Anna Tam is the first Whisky Ambassador and Accredited WA Tutor in China. She has years of experience in teaching WSET and other international wine courses. She is also a guest speaker in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an independent wine writer. You may have seen her, or heard her loud laughter, in the hidden whisky bars of Shenzhen.
