It’s been a roller coaster year for the whole world and not very different for sports enthusiasts in China. However, Holding their heads high and marching through the challenges posted by 2020, Cricket lovers of Guangdong have successfully hosted multiple hard ball tournaments in later part of the year. Approaching the end of 2020, they’d be signing off with another Cricket tournament but in a different style.
“Yes you read it right, Another Cricket tournament”
This time it’s an all new game with different ball, format, rules, location and teams unlike previous tournaments in Shenzhen. Only thing which remains same is the driving force behind, the ones who organize and lead for the development of Cricket in the region.
For those who are wondering about using Tennis ball in Cricket, Tennis ball cricket is a variant of cricket, played using a tennis ball. It is mainly played by youngsters in South Asia region as a tennis ball is easier to play with compared to a conventional hard cricket ball. It is also safer as the tennis ball is soft and less likely to cause injury.
This is a ball with which most of the International Cricketers have started their careers in their home backyards as a child and it applies same for all local Cricketers in South China. Once again, they’ll be reliving their Childhood but this time it’ll be against tough competition. It’s going to be an immense battle mixed with lot of banters on the field.
There’s a wise saying by an old man : “Cricket is the only sport in the world where you are absolutely horrible at something and you still need to go out and do it." A part of what we'll be seeing in upcoming tournament.
