5 Foreigners Detained and Fined for Failure to Register
11 Oct 2016
Aaron Cannon, owner of Chill's Bar and of the soon-to-open Fubar Brewery (both on Hai Chang Jie), confirmed that 5 fines of 500 RMB each were issued last night (Monday October 10th, 2016) to foreigners by local police in Shekou.
The fines were issued as part of an ongoing operation to ensure foreigners register with their local police station; which is required by law.
This was the second time police have checked foreigner's registration papers this year in Shekou and the first time since the end of the National Day holiday.
UPDATE: The foreigners were said to have been stopped on Shangle Road (the small street behind HaiChang Jie).
