The 4th Happy Lantern Festival Lights Up Shenzhen

The 4th Happy Lantern Festival is taking place now until March 3, 2018 on Coconut Beach of Happy Coast in Nanshan District of Shenzhen.
The lantern festival has several themes featuring lights, gardens, food, and entertainment: Happy New Year, Happy Animal City, Belt and Road, Traveling Space, Colorful Tunnel, Amusement Park, Folk Delicacies, VR Experience, Interactive Entertainment, Fun Beach and more.
The Belt and Road group theme is the environment and the flourishing prosperity of the ancient Silk Road. Their lantern is made from 300,000 recycled mineral water bottles and is 100 meters in length and 20 meters tall.
The Happy Animal City theme has lanterns in the form of lions, tigers, leopards; elk, zebra, giraffes, flamingos; monkeys, elephants, rhinoceros, hippopotamus and more.
In addition to watching the lanterns, there is also food street, a 1000 square meter studio with VR gaming equipment and other activities; such as magic shows, live bands, and acrobatics.
The festival is taking place from 17:00-22:00 each day from December 8, 2017 - March 3, 2018. It's free for children under 1.2m and just 50 RMB per person (or 80 RMB per person on holidays: Dec 24/25, Dec 30, Jan 1, Feb 14-Mar 3).
